2)      The information on this site is intended to help homeowners find solutions to their properties problems, regarding house sitting, house swapping and trade. Information provided as circumstances will vary from person to person may not always be up to date and cannot necessarily be relied upon. Therefore it is always best to contact the users directly in order to receive updated and proper information as to their services/offers.

3)      This site is intended for homeowners who seek a housesitter, are willing to swap their home for another to enjoy an alternative vacation and for owners who seek to trade their home for another. All parties intended to advertise their properties need to be the legal owner of the advertised property, meaning the home has to be in their name.  Those who seek to promote their  services as sitters need to be of legal age (+18)  and present (if requested) their criminal record.

4)      We are not responsible for the contents or reliability of any other websites to which we provide a link and do not necessarily endorse the views expressed within them. All links provided are for information purposes.

5)      We reserve the right to remove at any time false and/or fraudulent information, should any complaint and/or reason arise from you advert. We are not responsible for the accuracy of the provided and listed information. All Information you provide to us may be stored on our servers. Although we will do our best to protect your Information, we cannot guarantee the security of your Information transmitted to our

site; any transmission by you is at your own risk.

6)      Housesitting.com.pt is a mere virtual platform where homeowners can engage with others in order to resolve their property necessities. We are not liable for any actions of the users visiting/registered/listed on your website.

7)      We do not accept any liability for any losses to you arising due to the malfunctioning of our software or third party misuses of our site. We use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that our site is professionally hosted in a secure environment. We accept no liability for any interruption in service; loss of some or all site facilities; criminal hacking or unauthorised intrusion into the site; loss of data at any time; special, consequential or indirect losses of any kind. Availability of our site: While we endeavour to ensure that our site is normally available 24 hours a day, we shall not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period. In addition, we may suspend the site and/or your access to it at any time at our sole discretion. If you breach any of these Terms of Use, your permission to use our site automatically ceases. The use of this function, provide over the Housesitting.com.pt platform is to be made with extreme responsibility. No foul language is to be used and all users are to be respected in the most civilized manner.

 

10) No personal data should be provided over the Chatbox. Emails, phone numbers, personal name/surname, home/living location/address, ID number, etc, should not be shared over the open chatroom. Any data provided in the open chatroom and/or private chat is at the users own responsibility.

 

Fraud Alert

Unfortunately fraudsters are always present where there is an opportunity, contacting members with fraudulent proposals.

Many fraudsters offer to pay salaries for house/pet sitting. They send false, yet convincing appearing money orders/ checks /cheques for around various amounts, up to 2.000 or 5000 Euros and/or USD.
The fraudsters usually say they are outside your country of origin. Recent ones say UK and Canada and need to settle a debt in your country.

They ask the victim to immediately deposit the money, keeping part for themselves and forwarding the balance to settle a debt in the victims country.

They become more and more frantic with their email follow-ups.

Many of the fraudsters use a Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail email address.


Please immediately forward the entire email including headers to abuse@yahoo.com and/or report to the official entities like: http://www.actionfraud.org.uk


If they are listed with us please report this to us immediately, so we can take action. We check the registrations and listings but sometimes they only become apparent when they start communicating.

Please make sure to check that all information provided in the advert is correct. Contact the person and get as much details as possible in order to provide a secure and proper relation with the advertiser. Do not just email, speak with them, video chat if possible. Establish a trust baseline. Meet before giving them the key.
